Dr. Crystal Howe, Ed. D.
Dr. Crystal Howe is a visionary educational leader with over two decades of experience fostering academic excellence and inspiring a love for learning. Born and raised in the vibrant yet challenging South Bronx, her journey as an educator began in the classroom, where her innovative teaching methods and commitment to student success established her as a beacon of excellence. Over the years, Dr. Howe has served as a lead teacher, instructional coach, and founding Dean of Students, championing data-driven instruction and best practices to achieve measurable gains in student achievement. Her unwavering dedication to educational excellence has inspired colleagues and transformed the lives of countless students. Dr. Howe's passion for school choice and transformative educational experiences culminated in co-founding G.O. B.I.G., North Carolina's first all-girls STEM charter school. As the co-founder and founding school leader, she has been instrumental in shaping the school's vision and curriculum, ensuring it stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence in STEM education for girls. Her leadership extends beyond academics, as she spearheads diverse and cutting-edge programming initiatives and forges community partnerships to guarantee equitable access to high-quality education. Her unwavering commitment to advancing equal educational opportunities for girls and relentless drive to achieve transformational results have earned her widespread respect and admiration among colleagues and community members. With a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University, a Master of Education from Mercy College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Yale University, Crystal is a lifelong learner and strategic thinker. Her expertise in organizational development and data-driven decision-making empowers her to lead purposefully and inspire others to strive for excellence. Beyond her professional endeavors, Crystal is a devoted spouse and foster parent, cherishing quality time with her family of four foster children and their beloved dog, Bud-Bud. Her life’s work reflects her belief in the transformative power of education to uplift communities and change lives.
